Armed men rob Patsan salesmen

A driver and two porters attached to Patsan Trading Company were attacked and robbed by three men, one of whom was armed with a firearm. The robbery occurred at about 14:30 hours on Thursday at the Lusignan Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.

Roy Gonsalves, 28, of Water Street, Agricola, EBD, a driver/salesman with Patsan Trading, accompanied by two porters — Raymond Lall and Yogeshwar Narine, of Kitty, Georgetown, were making deliveries to customers in motor Canter GGG 4343 when a white AT 192 motor car with three men inside drove up and blocked their path.

Two of the bandits, one of whom was armed with a handgun, came out of the vehicle and held up the three employees, took them out of the Canter, took away their cell phones, and then drove away with their vehicle.

The Canter was later found abandoned at Cummings Lodge, ECD, minus a built-in metal canister that was in the cab of the vehicle. That canister contained $3 million cash, proceeds from the day’s sales.
